Hot Rodding is my mistress. My life is forever shanghaied by a passion for old tin. My connection to old cars is a bridge from modern day to days gone by. The car is something that exist simultaneously in the present and in reflection, a portal if you will, to whatever era you relate to. For me the connection to the past is something that I enjoy, the working by hand, the collecting, the connection with people who are victim to the same addiction. If your into the joys of motoring, come on in.
Hm, it's a bit of a wreck, but perhaps it still has potential. If can manage to restore the car to its original look... well, judging from the last photo, you can say that the car is a classic.
Yes, Jolandi, it looks like a wreck, but a car that can still accelerate can still be useful, though it would need a major overhaul of both the exterior and interior, not to mention that there may be parts that need to be replaced. After that, replace the chassis with a new one, or if its original parts (or whatever’s left of it) can still be restored, then it would be better, preferred even.
I agree with Maria. We shouldn't disregard a car even if it is totally wrecked, or if it has engine problems. A simple paint job would do the trick for this car, and a little repair and some modifications to its engine would restore it to the way it was.
You are right, Jolandi! A classic will always be a classic. It doesn’t mean that if something’s old, it deserves to be thrown away already. It’s nice to look back in time, and not just through photos but through tangible objects as well. It’s interesting to ponder at the past, especially when it involves cars.
As you look at the last photo, you can really say that this car was just as awesome as the cars that we have today. The design is a little bit different from other vehicles, but that’s what made it so unique.
